By way of the present writ petition, the petitioner seeks following reliefs: “A. Sudha @ Sudha Devi, in terms of Cabinet Decision No. 2835 dated 13.05.2020 as amended vide Cabinet Decision No. 3065 dated 31.01.2022; B. Issue an appropriate writ, order or direction directing the Respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to grant and release the additionby al compensation of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs Only) to the Petitioner as announced by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for employees who died while performing essential duties during the COVID-19 pandemic; C. Award interest @ 18% p.a. on the ex gratia amount of Rs. 1,00,00,000/- and the additional compensation of Rs. 10,00,000/- from the respective dates of entitlement till the date of actual realization, in the interest of justice...” 4. Issue notice. The learned counsels accept notice on behalf of the respondents i.e. GNCTD and MCD. 5. This Court notes that the matter regarding payment of compensation has been pending for the last several years and the concerned officers of Government of NCT of Delhi (hereafter „GNCTD‟) and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (hereafter „MCD‟) have not yet decided the claim of the petitioners. 6. In these circumstances, the Chief Secretary of GNCTD as also the Commissioner of MCD are directed to depute responsible officers, who will interact with each other and process the case of the petitioner for grant of ex- gratia compensation to the family of the deceased, and in case the petitioner qualifies (as per rules) for grant of such compensation, the same shall be disbursed to the concerned family members of the deceased within a period of eight weeks from today. 7.
