2026:JHHC:16216-DB IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI Cr. Appeal (DB) No. 612 of 2026 --- Sudis Kumar Ojha @ Sudis Ojha @ Sudish Ojha --- --- Appellant Versus The State of Jharkhand. --- --- Respondent --- CORAM: Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay Hon’ble Mr. Justice Arun Kumar Rai --- For the Appellant : Mr. R.S. Mazumdar, Sr. Adv. For the Respondent : P.P 02/08.06.2026 Heard Mr. R.S. Mazumdar, learned senior counsel for the appellant and learned P.P. This appeal is directed against the order dated 24.04.2026 passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge-VII, Dhanbad in B.P. No.285 of 2026 arising out of Govindpur P.S. Case No. 89 of 2026 whereby and whereunder the prayer for bail of the appellant has been rejected. It has been alleged that some persons who had demanded extortion money, were chased and one of the persons had fired upon the Police personnel and had also thrown bombs. On account of the retaliatory fire the petitioner who was fleeing away, was subsequently apprehended and from his possession various incriminating articles were recovered. Although it has been submitted by the senior counsel for the appellant that the appellant is in custody since 16.03.2026 and that the appellant has been falsely implicated at the behest of the Police, but regard being had to the specific nature of allegations leveled against him of firing at the Police and throwing bombs apart from the various incriminating articles recovered from his possession, we are not inclined to admit the appellant on bail. This appeal is, therefore, dismissed at this stage. (Rongon Mukhopadhyay, J.) (Arun Kumar Rai, J.) Shamim/ Uploaded: 10 /06/2026
