It is the case of the petitioner that his claim for compensation against the land and building of the petitioner which has been acquired for construction of National Highway under the National Highways Act, has not been considered. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he has already preferred an application before the District Land 2026:JHHC:16321 2 Acquisition Officer for taking appropriate steps under the Act, but neither any order has been passed and nor any action has been taken pursuant to his representation. He submits that suffice it would be if a direction is given to the respondents to dispose of his representation and thereafter take appropriate steps in terms of the National Highways Act. 4. Learned counsel for the respondents submits that if the application of the petitioner is still pending, an appropriate order will be passed. 5. In view of the submissions of the learned counsel of the parties, I direct the petitioner to approach the District Land Acquisition Officer, Sahebganj for ventilating his grievance, who in turn will consider the grievance of the petitioner and pass appropriate order in terms of National Highways Act within eight weeks from today. 6.
