The petitioner has preferred this writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking following reliefs :- a. Issue a writ of Mandamus directing the Respondent to sanction and disburse the statutory compensation amount of ₹4,00,000/- (or such amount as may be applicable under the prevailing CSPDCL circulars/notifications), along with interest, on account of the death of Late Shri Ramprasad Sonvani in a fatal electrical accident. b. Pass any other writ, order, or direction that this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case. Pending final disposal of this petition, direct the Respondent to provisionally release the admissible compensation amount to the Petitioner. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that, late Ram Prasad Sonwani died on 25-7-2025 in a fatal electrical accident. Report of the matter was also made to the concerned Police Station and the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (henceforth, referred to as ‘the CSPDCL’) authority. He further submits that, the petitioner has filed an application dated 29-9-2025 (Annexure P-4) for grant of ex-gratia amount as per the Circular (Annexure P-3) issued by the CSPDCL authority, but the said application of the petitioner has not been decided. Hence, he prays that, this writ petition may be disposed of directing the respondent authority to consider and decide the application (Annexur P-4) within the time stipulated by this Court. 3. Learned counsel for the respondent submits that, if the application (Annexure P-4) of the petitioner is pending, the same shall be decided within 45 days. 4. Having considered the submission made by learned counsel for the parties, instead of keeping pending this petition, it is disposed of directing the respondent to decide the application dated 29-9-2025 (Annexure P-4) of the petitioner as early as possible preferably within a period of 45 days from today. 5. Learned counsel for the respondent is directed to inform the respondent about this order. 6. This petition is accordingly disposed of. 7.
