JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER Learned Additional Government Advocate takes notice for all the respondents. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:20481 WP No. 11473 of 2026 2. Learned AGA raises a preliminary objection that the petitioners are seeking directions to the Tahsildar to consider their representations dated 14.05.2025 to restore the petitioners’ grandfather's name in the revenue records. However, the petitioners themselves have stated in the writ petition that the mutation entry earlier made in M.R.No.5/1993-94 on the basis of a Panchayat Parikath made between the family members. The name of the petitioner is thereafter removed and the name of Sri Manchaiah is recorded in the revenue records in respect of all the properties which were earlier shared by the brothers. If that is the case, then the subsequent mutation entry has to be challenged in a manner known to law. 3. There is substance in the submission made by the learned Additional Government Advocate. If certain illegal entries have been made in the year 1999-2000 without notice to the petitioners, then the remedy for the petitioners would be before the Assistant Commissioner under Section 136(2) of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:20481 WP No. 11473 of 2026 1964. On the other hand, if a representation is given to the Tahsildar, he will not be in a position to consider the grievance of the petitioners. 4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of reserving liberty to the petitioners to approach the Assistant Commissioner to redress their grievance. Sd/- (R DEVDAS) JUDGE JT/- CT: JL
