Chatterjee, Advocate ---- 02/08.06.2026 Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as learned counsel appearing for the State. 2. The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Lower Bazar P.S. Case No.195 of 2025, for the alleged offences registered under Sections 317(5) and 3(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Section 12 of Jharkhand Bovine Animal Prohibition of Slaughter Act, 2005 pending in the Court of learned Judicial Magistrate, XXVIII, Ranchi. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is neither owner nor driver of pickup van on which bovine animals were being carried. She further submits that name of the petitioner has come on confessional statement of driver. She then submits that in identical situation one of the co-accused has been granted anticipatory bail by this Court in ABA No.6834 of 2025. She next submits that the petitioner has got no criminal antecedent as disclosed in paragraph No.15 of the petition. Learned counsel appearing for the State opposed the prayer and submits that illegally bovine animals were being carried on the said pickup van. 5. Considering that the petitioner is neither owner nor driver of pickup van in question and the name of the petitioner has come on confessional statement of the driver and the petitioner has got no criminal antecedent as disclosed in paragraph No.15 of the petition and in identical situation co-accused person has already been granted anticipatory bail in the aforesaid A.B.A., I am inclined to provide anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 6. Accordingly, the petitioner, above named, is hereby directed to surrender before the learned Court within three weeks from today, and in the event of his surrender/arrest, the petitioner, above named, shall be released on bail, on furnishing bail bond of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand), with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of Judicial Magistrate, XXVIII, Ranchi in connection with Lower Bazar P.S.
