The matter is listed for orders on Letter dated 27.12.2025 sent by the 03rd Additional Sessions Judge, Surajpur, District- Surajpur (C.G.) requesting for extension of further 02 months time for disposal of the case bearing Sessions Case No. 54/2023 (“State of Chhattisgarh Vs. Smt. Rambai.”). 2. On 13.08.2025, while disposing of MCRC No. 6145/2025, this Court directed the concerned Court to decide the case within four months. However, the proceedings could not be completed within the stipulated period. The concerned Court has sought further time to decide the case, stating that the statements of 23 prosecution witnesses have been recorded, and the accused’s 2 statement under Section 313 CrPC has been taken. The case was fixed for final arguments on 27.12.2025, but the prosecution filed an application under Section 311 CrPC on that date. The case is now fixed for reply and disposal of the said application. Given these circumstances, it is unlikely that the case can be disposed of within the time frame stipulated by this Court. By the letter under consideration, the concerned Court has prayed for further time for deciding the case. 3. The request made by the learned concerned Court appears to be genuine and, therefore, further 01 month time is granted from the date of receipt of copy of this Court to ensure disposal of the case. 4. The concerned Judge is directed to make all the endevour for disposal of the case within time. Registry and State are directed to send the copy of this order to the concerned Court. 5.
