From the instruction forwarded by the District Inspector of Schools (Secondary Education), South 24-Parganas signed on 9th December, 2025, it appears that additional gratuity was paid to the petitioner in November 2025 in terms of ROPA 2019. It further appears that there has been delay on the part of the respondents in releasing the additional gratuity to the petitioner in terms of the revised ROPA. 2. The petitioner prays for interest on account of such delayed payment. 3. As it appears that there is, indeed, delay in payment of the revised gratuity, accordingly, the Treasury Officer, Baruipur is directed to pay interest to the petitioner at the rate of five per cent per annum on the revised gratuity amount calculated on and from the date it fell due, till the date of actual payment. Such 2 interest shall be calculated and disbursed within 30th April, 2026. 4. The writ petition stands disposed of. 5. All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 6.
