1. The Petitioners were appointed on a contractual basis between 2007 and 2013 as Lecturers in Government Polytechnic Colleges under the Department of Training and Technical Education (“DTTE”), and were subsequently transferred to the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (“DSEU”) pursuant to the merger notification dated 16th April, 2021. They assert that they have rendered continuous and unblemished service for 12 to 17 years and have been discharging duties similar to those performed by regular faculty. 2. The Petitioners submitted a representation dated 27th April, 2026 to the Respondents, which remains pending consideration. The Petitioners have, therefore, approached this Court seeking, inter alia, restoration of yearly contractual engagement, payment of Dearness Allowance at the revised rates along with arrears, and other service-related benefits. 3. Since the representation is still pending, this Court is of the view that the Respondents ought to take a decision thereon before this Court exercises its writ jurisdiction. 4. Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to Respondent No. 1 to consider and decide the Petitioners’ representation dated 27th April, 2026, as also the present writ petition as an additional representation, within a period of six weeks from today. 5. This Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the claims raised by the Petitioners. 6. All rights and contentions of the parties are left open.
