Mishra, Advocate --- 2/04.06.2026 Heard Mr. Kaushik Sarkhel, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned APP assisted by Mr. K.K. Mishra, learned counsel appearing for the informant. The petitioner is an accused in connection with Narayanpur P.S. Case No.36 of 2026. The husband of the informant was assaulted by the accused-persons including the petitioner. It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the initial assault was committed by Jakir Ansari, as per the statement of the victim. Learned counsel submits that there has been a delay of four days in lodging the First Information Report and the petitioner is in custody since 06.04.2026. Learned A.P.P. for the State as well as the learned counsel for the informant have opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner. It appears that the petitioner has been attributed to have committed assault with a rod on the head of the informant and the injury report corroborates the manner of assault. Regard being had to the above, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The same stands rejected, at this stage. This bail application is rejected. (Rongon Mukhopadhyay, J) 04th June, 2026.
