(2026: JHHC: 6931-DB) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI W.P (C) No. 6678 of 2019 Ramesh Kumar Yadav, Age of 50 years, son of Laxmi Narayan Yadav, Address-Kuwar Tola, Gangjala Saharasa Ward No. 17, P.O & P.S. Saharasa, District Saharasa --- --- --- Petitioner Versus 1. The Food Corporation of India through its Chairman-cum-Managing Director, having its office at New Delhi, P.O & P.S. Barkhambha Lane, District New Delhi, India 2. The General Manager (Jharkhand), Ranchi Food Corporation of India, having its office at Collectorate Building, Kutchery Road, P.O-P.S. Sadar, District Ranchi, Jharkhand 3. Assistant General Manager (Contracts), Ranchi, Food Corporation of India, Ranchi, P.O & P.S. Durwa, District Ranchi, Jharkhand --- --- --- Respondents --------- CORAM: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJESH SHANKAR --------- For the Petitioner: None For the Respondents: Mr. Shubham Sinha, A.C to Mr. Nipun Bakshi, Advocate --------- 08/Dated: 16.03.2026 1. Heard Mr. Shubham Sinha, the learned counsel for the Respondents (FCI). 2. This petition was taken up on 18.06.2025 on which date, neither the petitioner nor his Advocate appeared. Still, the matter was adjourned to 19.11.2025. The matter then appeared on 05.02.2026 on which date again, there was no appearance on behalf of the petitioner. Learned counsel for the Respondent (FCI) submitted that the reliefs in this petition have now been rendered infructuous because of five year (2026: JHHC: 6931-DB) debarment period referred to in the impugned order has since expired in 2024. 3. Still, this petition was not disposed of with a view to grant the petitioner an additional opportunity. The matter then came up on 11.03.2026, on which date as well, neither the petitioner nor his Advocate appeared. Still, with a view to grant yet another opportunity to the petitioner, the matter was posted on 16.03.2026 ‘high on Board’. Today, neither the petitioner nor his Advocate appeared. Possibly because five year debarment period has concluded, the petitioner may no longer be interested in pursuing this petition. 4. Accordingly, we dismiss this petition for non-prosecution without any order for costs. (M. S. Sonak, C.J.) (Rajesh Shankar, J.) March 16, 2026 N.A.F.R. Ranjeet/R.Kr./Cp.2 Uploaded on 17.03.2026
