( 2026:JHHC:15896 ) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI A.B.A No. 2857 of 2026 Chhatu Ram @ Ravi Ram ... Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand … Opposite Party --- CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY For the Petitioner : Mr. Vikash Kumar, Advocate For the State : Mr. Rajneesh Vardhan, A.P.P. --- Order No. 02/ Dated: 2nd June, 2026 Heard Mr. Vikash Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. 2. The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Adityapur P.S. Case No. 255 of 2025. 3. It has been alleged that the informant was shot at by one Aakash Sardar, but he had a providential escape. 4. Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioner that he has been implicated on the confessional statement of co-accused, Subhash Pramanik. Learned counsel fairly submits that the petitioner has got two criminal antecedents, but however considering his manner of implication he deserves to be granted anticipatory bail. 5. Learned A.P.P. for the State opposed the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner. 6. It appears that the informant was being abused by the accused persons while standing in front of the door of his house, following which Aakash Sardar fired upon him. Although the petitioner has been named in the confessional statement of co-accused Subhash Pramanik, but keeping in view the fact that he has two other criminal antecedents, I am not inclined to extend the privilege of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. His prayer for anticipatory bail is hereby rejected. 7. This application stands rejected. (RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY, J.) Dated: 2nd June, 2026 Vedanti/- Uploaded on 5th June, 2026
