This appeal is directed against the order dated 15.04.2026 passed in A.B.P. No. 290 of 2026 by the learned Additional Sessions Judge-I cum Spl. Judge, SC/ST Act, Chatra, whereby and whereunder the prayer for Anticipatory Bail of the appellants has been rejected. It has been alleged that the accused persons had untied the goat of the informant and hurled abuses to the informant in the name of her caste. The informant was also subjected to assault and when her husband and daughter-in-law came to her rescue, they were also not spared. Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the appellants that the allegations are general and omnibus in nature. It has further been submitted that the appellants do not have any criminal antecedents. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the appellants. It appears from the impugned order that the witnesses have stated about the appellants abusing the informant and her family members in the name of their caste and the same categorically makes out an offence under Section 3 of the SC/ST Act.
