There was a scuffle between two groups over the issue of owing money. The principal accused was arrested and was thereafter granted bail. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the de facto complainant opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail. He submits that this Court had earlier rejected the anticipatory bail application of a similarly circumstanced co-accused on 02.02.2026 in CRM (A) 97 of 2026. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State strongly opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail. He relies on the statements of the victim, which implicate the present petitioners as the principal accused along with two others and the injury reports and CT scan 2 reports, which show fracture injuries inflicted on as many as three individuals. Considering the above, the other materials available in the case diary, the alleged roles ascribed to the present petitioners and the fact that the application for anticipatory bail of a similarly circumstanced co-accused was rejected earlier, I do not consider this is to be a fit case for granting anticipatory bail. Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail of the petitioners is rejected. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
