The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Penk Narayanpur P.S. Case No. 57/2025. It has been alleged that one Suresh Mahto was apprehended by the Police with a plastic sack and on search of the sack several cartons of foreign liquor were recovered. It has been submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the implication of the petitioner stems from the confessional statement of the apprehended accused Suresh Mahto. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner does not have any criminal antecedent. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner. Regard being had to the fact that save and except the confessional statement of the apprehended accused there being no other material connecting the petitioner with the offence as alleged, I am inclined to extend the privilege of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. The petitioner accordingly is directed to surrender before the learned court below within a period of four weeks and on his surrender, he shall be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned A.C.J.M., Bermo at Tenughat in connection with Penk Narayanpur P.S.
