Neutral Citation No. ( 2026:JHHC:15897 ) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI A.B.A. No. 2840 of 2026 Om Kumar ... … Petitioner Versus 1. The State of Jharkhand 2. The Victim … … Opposite Parties ------- CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY ------- For the Petitioner : Mr. Ashok Kumar Singh, Advocate For the State : Mr. Fahad Allam, A.P.P. ------- 02/02.06.2026 Heard Mr. Mr. Ashok Kumar Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P for the State. The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Chatra Sadar P.S. Case No. 162 of 2023. It has been alleged that the daughter of the informant was enticed away by Vicky Kumar and Vishal Prasad Kushwaha. Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioner that there was a love affair between the victim and Vicky Kumar and both have solemnized marriage. It has been submitted that Vicky Kumar has been acquitted by Juvenile Justice Board, Chatra. Learned counsel further adds that so far as the petitioner is concerned, his name has been given as a foot note in the First Information Report as being an accomplice of Vicky Kumar and Vishal Prasad Kushwaha. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner and has submitted that the victim was a minor. Regard being had to the fact that the main allegation seems to have been levelled against Vicky Kumar and the petitioner has been implicated only on the suspicion that he was an accomplice of Vicky Kumar, he is directed to surrender before the learned court below within a period of four weeks and on his surrender, he shall be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Chatra in connection with Chatra Sadar P.S. Case No. 162 of 2023, subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 482(2) of the B.N.S.S., 2023. This application stands allowed. (Rongon Mukhopadhyay, J.) Dated, the 2nd June, 2026 A.
