Mr. Rahul Thakur, learned Deputy Advocate General appears and waives service of notice on behalf of the respondents. 2. By way of this writ petition, the petitioner has approached this Court feeling aggrieved by the fact that in terms of Annexure P-1, the petitioner while being promoted against the post of Inspector has been transferred from Hamirpur to Chamba. 3. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court is of the considered view that the petitioner is under some kind of misconception that he has been transferred. Promotion 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? always entails the posting. The petitioner, upon his promotion against the post of Inspector now stands posted at Chamba. Therefore, it is not as if he stands “transferred”, as the word “transfer” in ordinary parlance is understood. 4. Accordingly, in this backdrop, as obviously, there is no merit in the present petition, the same is dismissed. 5. At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has filed representation, Annexure P-2. It is observed that the rejection of this petition shall not come in the way of the Competent Authority to take an appropriate call on the representation of the petitioner.
