Petitioner is before this Court seeking for the following reliefs: (a) Issue a writ or Order or Direction in the nature of mandamus, directing the Respondents to consider the representation of father of the Petitioner vide Annexure-B, dated 23.11.2023 and the Petitioner herein vide Annexures-D & D1 dated 30.08.2025, 02.09.2025 respectively and issue E-katha bearing Janjar No.94, property No.93, measuring East-West 250 ft. and North-South 150 ft, in which there exist - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:8214 WP No. 31496 of 2025 a temple of deity Sri Kalikamba built to an extent of 20x30 ft, Vidjyaranyapura Sringeri Taluk, Gramapanchayath situated at limits, (b) pass any other suitable order or direction as this Hon'ble Court deems fit to pass in the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest and equity. 4. The petitioner claims that the land in Janjar No.94, Property No.93, measuring 20x30 feet, on which the Kalikamba Temple has been built. His father, late Ganesh Bhat, was performing pooja and it is in that background that the petitioner has submitted an application for issuance of E-Khata in the name of the petitioner. 5. The land belongs to the government, a temple having been established, the petitioner's father was only performing pooja as an archak and cannot claim any title to the property on the basis of possessory right. The land belonging to the government and/or the deity, no E- Khata can be issued in favour of the petitioner as sought by the petitioner. Hence, the petition stands dismissed.
