Let affidavit-of-service, as filed in Court, be kept on record. 2. In spite of service, none appears on behalf of the school authorities. 3. The petitioner, an Assistant Teacher in the Sonamui Fateh Singh Nahar High School, Howrah, had applied for transfer on the ground of distance which was refused by the school authorities in 2021 on the ground of the pupil- teacher ratio. 4. As it now appears that the petitioner had made a fresh application on November 24, 2025, in the prescribed form seeking transfer on the ground of distance. 5. School authority is directed to consider and dispose of this application by April 30, 2026, if the 2 transfer of the petitioner is permissible in law without disrupting 10% rule. If the school authorities allow the application of the petitioner they will take expeditious steps to forward the same to the concerned District Inspector of Schools. 6. The suspension of ‘Utsashree Portal’ will not be an impediment for the concerned authority to consider the application for transfer of the petitioner. The same shall be considered in an offline mode. 7. With the aforestated directions, the writ petition is, thus, disposed of. 8. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. 9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking. (Reetobroto Kumar Mitra, J.)
