Learned Senior Counsel Sri Dhananjay Joshi appearing for the petitioners submits that 3 acres of land in Survey No.16 of Hagaduru Village, K.R.Puram Hobli, - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:17469 WP No. 8567 of 2026 Bangalore East Taluk was granted in favour of Sri Byrappa and another 3 acres of land in the name of Sri Anjanappa, the father of the petitioners herein and saguvali chits were also issued in the year 1945. However, since the computerized RTC were not continued in the name of the original grantees, the petitioners filed an appeal before the Assistant Commissioner, Bangalore North Sub-Division in RA (BE) No.551/2022 and the Assistant Commissioner passed an order on 14.10.2022 stating that he has perused the certified copy of the grant orders which indicated that the lands were indeed granted in favour of Sri Byrappa and Sri Anjinappa. Accordingly, directions were issued to the Tahsildar to accept the khata and enter the names of the original grantees in the computerised RTC. Nevertheless, the Tahsildar has not complied with the directions issued by the Assistant Commissioner. Therefore, the prayer in the writ petition is to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent - Tahsildar to proceed to enter the names of the original grantees in the - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:17469 WP No. 8567 of 2026 computerized RTC in terms of the directions issued by the Assistant Commissioner. 3. Learned Additional Government Advocate submits on instructions that the State is contemplating to challenge the order of the Assistant Commissioner. 4. Having regard to the contentions of the petitioners and the fact that the order passed by the Assistant Commissioner on 14.10.2022 has remained unchallenged till date, the Tahsildar is duty bound to comply with the directions issued by the Assistant Commissioner. 5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 – Tahsildar, Bengaluru East Taluk, to proceed to enter the names of the original grantees as directed by the Assistant Commissioner in proceedings bearing No.RA(BE) No.551/2022, as expeditiously as possible and at any rate - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:17469 WP No. 8567 of 2026 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.
