Neutral Citation No. ( 2026:JHHC:15795 ) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B. A. No. 4713 of 2026 --- Govind Yadav … … Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand … … Opposite Party --- CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY --- For the Petitioner : Mr. Aditya Banerjee, Advocate For the Opposite Party : A.P.P. --- 2/29.05.2026 Heard Mr. Aditya Banerjee, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. for the State. The petitioner is an accused in connection with Chandrapura P.S. Case No. 22 of 2026. It has been alleged that the petitioner had enticed away the daughter of the informant and after committing rape upon her had committed her murder. It has been submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that there was a love affair between the petitioner and the deceased for about one year. Learned counsel while referring to the FIR has submitted that the deceased had left her house to meet the petitioner and that has been construed to mean that it was the petitioner who was involved in the commission of the offence. He has further submitted that the post mortem report has not come to a conclusive finding with respect to the cause of death and even there is no finding that rape was committed upon the victim. He also adds that the petitioner was suspected to be involved in the commission of the offence only on account of the love affair which was existing between them and the petitioner is in custody since 09.03.2026. Learned A.P.P. for the State has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner. Regard being had to the above, the petitioner above named is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the -2- satisfaction of learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bermo at Tenughat in connection with Chandrapura P.S. Case No. 22 of 2026. (Rongon Mukhopadhyay, J) Uploaded R. Shekhar Cp 3
