The petitioner was employed as a Clerk in the Ramkrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur, a Government sponsored institution. 2. The petitioner retired in August, 2025, and was entitled to Provident Fund. 3. After filing of the writ petition, the petitioner has been paid the Provident Fund along with interest for two months i.e. September and October, 2025. The payment has been received by the petitioner on February 13, 2026. 4. The petitioner was entitled to receive his Provident Fund in September, 2025 after his retirement. Clearly there is a delay in making payment. 5. In view of the fact that the petitioner is entitled to statutory interest for a period of six months and that there has been a delay in making payment to the petitioner, I direct the respondent no. 2 to 2 pay interest at the statutory rate for the months commencing from November, 2025 till January, 2026 and for 12 days in February, 2026 (01.02.2026 to 12.02.2026). 6. With the aforestated directions, the writ petition is disposed of. 7. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. 8.
