JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER Having regard to the orders passed by this Court on 17.02.2026 directing the learned HCCP and the respondent-Tasildar to clarify regarding the jurisdiction of the land in question and by whom the application filed by the petitioner seeking regularization of unauthorized occupation should be considered, learned HCGP has today - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:10601 WP No. 3004 of 2026 furnished a copy of the Communication dated 18.02.2026 made by the Tahsildar, Bantwal Taluk. 2. It is stated that, although, it is true that the lands in question fall within the jurisdiction of Bantwal Taluk, nevertheless, in terms of the orders passed by the Assistant Commissioner, Mangalore, in Order bearing No.RA/SR/283/2021-22 dated 15.09.2022, some of the villages in the border between Bantwal Taluk and Ullal Taluk, the application for regularization are directed to be placed before the Committee for regularization of unauthorized occupation at Ullal. 3. It is stated that the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly is the Chairman of the Committee and due to his preoccupation, alternative arrangements have been made to enable the Committee to take up the applications, considering the same and dispose of the applications. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:10601 WP No. 3004 of 2026 4. Learned HCGP submits that the application of the petitioner will be placed before the Committee and necessary orders will be passed as expeditiously as possible. 5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondent-Tahsildar, Bantwal Taluk and Ullal Taluk to place the application of the petitioner for regularization of unauthorized occupation before the Committee along with his recommendation, within a period of six weeks from today. 6. The Committee shall take up the application and consider and dispose of the same within a period of two months from the date on which the application will be placed by the Tahsildar before the Committee.
