Affidavit of service filed by the petitioner is taken on record. None appears for the respondents despite service. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the private respondent has been raising illegal and unauthorised construction on government khas land without obtaining any sanctioned plan or requisite permission for the same. The petitioner submitted a representation before the concerned authority in this regard on 28th October, 2025 pursuant to which a request was made by the Assistant Secretary to the Government of West Bengal to the Superintendent of Police, Paschim Medinipur and the District Land & Land Reforms Officer, Paschim Medinipur to enquire into the matter and take necessary steps accordingly. Upon consideration of the submission made on behalf of the petitioner, this Court is of the view that the Pradhan, Sonkoa Gram Panchayat, being the 8th respondent herein, be directed to consider and dispose of the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 28th 2 October, 2025 within four weeks from the date of communication of this order upon affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to all concerned including the petitioner and the private respondent in accordance with law. The decision taken by the authority shall be communicated to the parties within a week thereof. In the event the construction allegedly raised by the private respondent is found to be illegal/unauthorised, the concerned authority shall take necessary steps in accordance with law. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
