The instant writ petition has been preferred by the petitioners Shabnoor and Malkeet, S/o Karnail Singh praying for the following reliefs:- (i) Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent nos. 2 and 3 to provide adequate security to the petitioners and also to direct the respondent nos. 4 to 6 not to interfere in the life and liberty of the petitioners, in any way. (ii) Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no. 2 to decide the representation dated 10.05.2025 (annexure no. 4) and provide adequate protection to the petitioner. 4. It is contended that both the petitioners are in love with each other and both are major and married with each other in Crown Palace Hotel Tehsil Bazpur, District U.S. Nagar on 09.11.2025 and their marriage is also registered in the office of the Sub-Registrar, Registration of Marriage, Bazpur, District U.S. Nagar on 10.11.2025, which is annexed as Annexure 3. In support of the age, copy of Aadhar Card of both of them have also been enclosed and as per the Aadhar card date of birth of petitioner no. 1 is 27.06.2007, and date of birth of petitioner no. 2 is 01.01.2002. It is further contended that there is a threat perception from Respondent nos. 4 to 6, therefore, adequate protection may be granted to the petitioners. 6. Both the petitioners are present in Court and are identified by their counsel. 7. This Court also interacted with each of them and both of them submits that they were in love and now married with each other on their own wish without any coercion. 8. Admittedly as per the documents, as enclosed in the petition, both the petitioners are major and both of them got marry and their marriage is also registered, and, in such an eventuality, if there is a threat perception from the side of the private respondents then the State is under legal obligation to ensure safety and protection of the petitioners. 9. Accordingly, I dispose of the instant writ petition with the direction to respondent no. 2 and 3 to make an assessment of threat perception received by the petitioners and to make an arrangement for their protection from any threat or coercive which may come from respondent nos. 4 to 6. The S.H.O. P.S. Bazpur District U.S. Nagar shall call respondent nos. 4 to 6 to the police station and counsel them not to take law in their hands. 10.
