It is the contention of the petitioner that petitioner was granted 1 acre 20 guntas of land in Sy.No.7 of B.K.Palya Village, Jala Hobli, Yelahanka Taluk in the year 1978. Pursuant to which, Saguvali Chit was also issued in favour of the petitioner. The name of the petitioner was entered in the revenue records in terms of MR No.31/1978-79. However after computerization the name of the petitioner is discontinued from the revenue records. Therefore the prayer in the writ petition is to issue a writ of mandamus directing respondent No.3 - Tahsildar, Yelahanka Taluk, to re-enter the name of the petitioner in the computerized RTC within a time frame. 3. After hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned High Court Government Pleader and on perusing the petition papers, this Court finds from the material on record that the name of the petitioner was earlier entered in the land revenue records. However, if the Tahsildar is of the opinion that the petitioner has not - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:21783 WP No. 4072 of 2026 been granted lands, nevertheless, it is the duty of the Tahsildar to secure the original grant records, Saguvali Chit issue register and other contemporaneous records to satisfy himself regarding the grant made in favour of the petitioner. Moreover, there is no reason why the name of the petitioner which was earlier entered in the land revenue records has been not continued after computerization, the Tahsildar is duty bound to look into all these aspects and pass necessary orders. 4. Consequently, writ petition stands disposed of with a specific direction to respondent No.3 - Tahsildar, Yelahanka Taluk to consider the representation given by the petitioner and in the light of the observations made hereinabove, verify the original records in the presence of the petitioner and pass necessary orders to enter the name of the petitioner in the computerized RTC and land revenue records as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:21783 WP No. 4072 of 2026 Learned High Court Government Pleader is permitted to file memo of appearance within a period of four weeks from today.
