The petitioner claims that he was not aware of the land ceiling proceedings at the time of purchase. The Government has introduced a scheme under which innocent purchasers, who had purchased lands without having the knowledge of land ceiling proceedings are permitted to get their lands regularised. The petitioner had exercised the said scheme and seeks for regularisation of his lands, morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition. 3. Though the petitioner relies upon G.O. Ms. No. 565 dated 26.09.2008, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 10282 of 2026 instructions, would submit that the relevant G.O. for the Innocent Purchaser Scheme is now different. 4. This Court is not expressing any opinion as to whether G.O. Ms. No. 565 dated 26.09.2008, as claimed by the petitioner, or any other G.O. applies to the case of the petitioner. 5. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner’s representation seeking for regularising the petitioner’s lands, morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition under the Innocent Purchaser Scheme is considered on merits and in accordance with law, as per the prevailing G.O. applicable to the Innocent Purchaser Scheme. 6. For the foregoing reasons, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner’s representation dated 03.10.2022, seeking to regularise the petitioner’s lands, morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition, under the Innocent Purchaser Scheme, as per the prevailing Government Orders, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
