Public Prosecutor for the State of Assam. 2. By this application, the petitioner has prayed for bail in connection with Golaghat P.S. Case No. 208/2026, registered under Sections 317(4), 112,
Page No.# 2/3 318(4), 319(2), 308(6), 308(7), 61(2), 351(2), 351(3), 3(5), 3(6), 3(8), 3(9) of the BNS, 2023. 3. The FIR in connection with which the petitioner was arrested and put behind the bars since 05.09.2026, was lodged by the police personnel of Golaghat Police Station, stating, inter alia, that without any authority and professional qualification of any kind, the petitioner along with others have stationed themselves in and around the premises of the Golaghat police station and are preying upon the informants coming to the police station with their grievances by alluring them to file cases or to reach into settlement and in the process, it is stated that, the petitioner and others used to take money from the said public. 4. Mr. Boro, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, there are no specific allegations against the petitioner and the same FIR has been lodged against various others alleged accused persons including the petitioner. 5. Mr. B. Sarma, the learned APP for the State, on the other hand, submits that allegations are writ large in the FIR that the petitioner has involved himself in alluring the members of the public, who go to the police station to file FIR or for other police work. 6. Upon consideration of the submissions made by the learned counsels, more so in view of the fact that, no specific allegation was made against the petitioner, further without there being any victim being mentioned in the said FIR, this court deems it fit to enlarge the petitioner on bail on furnishing of a bail bond of Rs.
20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) with one local surety of
Page No.# 3/3 the like amount of the satisfaction of the CJM, Golaghat under the following conditions: (i) The petitioner shall positively appear before the Investigating Officer as and when call for. (ii) The petitioner shall not hamper and tamper with the evidence of the case, and/or influence the witness connected with the case; and (iii) The petitioner shall not leave their residence without prior permission of the Investigating Officer. 7.
