The petitioner filed an application under Section 213A of the West Bengal Panchayat Act before the Block Development Officer, Domkal Development Block, Murshidabad for disqualification of the private respondent. The application was rejected by the Block Development Officer by an order passed on 24th December, 2025. The said order was carried in appeal by the petitioner before the appellate authority/the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer, Murshidabad. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though notice of appeal was issued upon the respondents therein, the appeal is still pending. The petitioner seeks disposal of the appeal. Upon consideration of the submission made on behalf of the parties, this Court directs the third respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal within two months from the date of communication of this order, in accordance with law.
2 The writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit has been invited, allegations contained in the writ petition shall be deemed not to have been admitted. Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities. (Suvra Ghosh, J.)
