--- 02/26.05.2026 Heard Mr. Indrajit Sinha, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Spl. P.P. The petitioner is an accused in connection with A.C.B. Jamshedpur P.S. Case No. 02/2026.
It has been alleged that 2.07 acres of land recorded in the name of the father of the informant was acquired for setting up a grid sub-station. A compensation of Rs.1,48,09,792/- was sanctioned. It has been alleged that the petitioner, who is the head clerk in the District Land Acquisition Office, Seraikella-Kharsawan, demanded a bribe of Rs.40,00,000/- for release of the compensation amount. On verification, the allegations were found to be true and a trap was laid and co-accused was caught red handed while accepting the tainted money of Rs.5 lakhs.
Submission has been advanced by learned counsel for the petitioner that prior to lodging of the first information report, the beneficiary had received the share of compensation. Admittedly no cash was recovered from the possession of the petitioner and he is in custody since 24.03.2026. Learned Spl.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner.
Regard being had to the above, the petitioner is
directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like

amount each to the satisfaction of learned Special Judge, A.C.B., West Singhbhum at Chaibasa in connection with A.C.B. Jamshedpur P.S. Case No. 02/2026.
This application stands allowed.
