The petitioner has made a complaint before the Sub- Divisional Officer, Chandannagar, Hooghly under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 on July 8, 2025 against the private respondents i.e., the respondent nos. 6 and 7 but till date, the Sub- Divisional Officer has not considered the complaint filed by the petitioner. 2. Learned counsel for the private respondents submits that this writ application has been affirmed by one Subhas Chandra Ghosh who is the brother of the petitioner and not the petitioner. He further submits that in the complaint also it is mentioned that the brother of the petitioner will represent the petitioner before the authority. He prays for dismissal of the writ application. 3. Heard the learned counsel for the respective parties. 4. Perused the materials on record. 5. This Court finds that the petitioner made a complaint before the Sub-Divisional Officer, Chandannagar, Hooghly i.e., the 2 respondent no. 2 but till date the respondent no. 2 has not disposed of the said complaint filed by the petitioner. 6. This Court finds that no purpose would be served by keeping the writ petition pending. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 2, i.e., the Sub- Divisional Officer, Chandannagar, Hooghly to consider the complaint filed by the petitioner on July 8, 2025 and to pass a reasoned and speaking order by giving an opportunity of hearing to all the concerned parties within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of this order. 7. It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merit of this case, all the points are kept open. 8. WPA 25552 of 2025 is disposed of. 9. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all the necessary formalities. (Krishna Rao, J.)
