For the respondent no. 8. 1.The instant appeal is directed against order dated 9th January, 2026 passed by a Single Bench of this Court. 2.The appellants were aggrieved by a notice dated 13.01.2026 issued by the WBSEDCL, threatening disconnection of electricity supply. 3.The grievance of the appellant is that they had paid the promoter sums of money towards installation of new electric meters in the newly constructed building of apartments but the promoter has not paid the same to the WBSEDCL and hence, new meters could not be installed there. The apartment owners are using the mother meter to draw supply without paying the dues even for the same.
4.The respondent/distribution company submits that they are not taking any steps towards disconnection of the electricity till 10th February, 2026.
5. Counsel for the promoter submits that they have also instituted WPA 2522 of 2026 raising grievances against the distribution company which is due to be listed tomorrow.
6. This Court is of the view that the aforesaid observations are sufficient to protect the interest of the parties. The Single Bench observed that the parties are exploring a mediation to settle the dispute between themselves.
7. With the aforesaid observations, MAT 136 of 2026 is disposed of. 8.Consequently, CAN 1 of 2026 shall also stand disposed of.
9. There shall be no order as to costs.
