JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER Learned High Court Government Pleader takes notice for all the respondents. 2. The grievance of the petitioner is that respondent No.3-Special Land Acquisition Officer, Hemavathi Reservoir - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:12605 WP No. 6698 of 2026 Project has failed to consider the application filed by the petitioner seeking grant of alternative land in terms of the scheme proposed by the Government for displaced persons. Learned counsel submits that in terms of the application filed by the petitioner, and at the request of respondent No.3, the Tahsildar, Sakaleshpura Taluk has furnished information in terms of Annexure-H to the Special Land Acquisition Officer identifying lands for allotment in favour of the petitioner. However, respondent No.3 has not proceeded to act on the recommendation made by the Tahsildar and no land has been allotted to the petitioner although several decades have elapsed after the petitioner has lost his land. 3. Having regard to the contentions raised by the petitioner, this Court is of the considered opinion that respondent No.3-Special Land Acquisition Officer, Hemavathi Reservoir Project is required to act expeditiously to clear the application filed by the petitioner and allot them alternative land in terms of the scheme proposed by the Government for the benefit of the displaced persons. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:12605 WP No. 6698 of 2026 4. Accordingly the Writ Petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Special Land Acquisition Officer, Hemavathi Reservoir Project to consider the application filed by the petitioner, consider the recommendation already made by the Tahsildar and proceed to grant alternative land to the petitioner in terms of the scheme of the Government, if the petitioner is eligible for allotment, as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
