Mr. Nandadulal Bandyopadhyay ………for the Petitioner Mr. Debjit Mukherjee ………for the WBSEDCL The grievance of the writ petitioner is directed against the provisional assessment order dated 24.07.2025 issued by the respondent authority under Section 126 of the Electricity Act, 2003. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that a sum of Rs. 1,82,026/- has been arbitrarily and illegally raised insofar as the subject assessment is concerned. On behalf of the respondent WBSEDCL, it is submitted that no final order in respect of the provisional bill has been raised till now. In such circumstances, WPA 25635 of 2025 stands disposed of by directing the Station Manager, respondent no. 4 having jurisdiction to pass the final assessment order if necessary after giving a right of hearing to the petitioner. The above exercise is to be completed within six weeks from the date of communication of this order. 2 It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of the case and all questions are left open to be decided by the respondent no. 4 in accordance with law.
