Contents of the joint memo reads as under: “The Petitioner and the Respondent above named respectfully submit as follows: 1. The Respondent had filed a private complaint under Section 200 of Cr.P.C. for the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, which was registered as C.C. No. 349/2017 on the file of the Civil Judge & JMFC, T. Narasipura. 2. After trial, the learned Magistrate was pleased to convict the Petitioner and directed him to pay a sum of Rs.2,80,000/- to the Respondent and Rs.20,000/- to the State, in default to undergo simple imprisonment for one year. 3. Being aggrieved by the said judgment, the Petitioner preferred Criminal Appeal No.95/2022 before the II Additional Sessions Judge at Mysuru, which came to be partly allowed on 02.08.2022, modifying the compensation to Rs.2,00,000/- - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:20539 CRL.RP No. 1337 of 2022 payable to the Respondent and Rs.5,000/- to the State. 4. Being further aggrieved, the Petitioner has preferred the present Criminal Revision Petition before this Hon'ble Court. 5. During the pendency of the above petition, both the parties, with the intervention of elders and well-wishers, have amicably settled the dispute. 6. As per the settlement: • The Petitioner has agreed to pay the settled amount of Rs.1,80,000/- (One lakh eighty thousand) to the Respondent. • Out of the said amount, a sum of Rs. 1,00,000/- has already been deposited before the Trial Court and the Respondent is permitted to withdraw the same without any objection from the Petitioner. • The remaining balance amount of Rs. 80,000/- shall be paid by the Petitioner to the Respondent in the following installments:- 15.04.2026-Rs. 80,000/-[Eighty thousand] 7. The Respondent agrees to receive the said amount in full and final settlement of the claim and has no further claim against the Petitioner.” 3.
