06.02.2026 IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA Item No.28 CRIMINAL MISCELLANEOUS JURISDICTION Ct.No.35 dc. Rejected C.R.M. (NDPS) 190 of 2026 In Re : An Application for bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Kaliachak Police Station Case No. 1993 of 2024 dated 04.12.2024 under Sections 21(c)/25/27A/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. And In Re : Jiem Hassan ... Petitioner. Mr. Mazahar Hossain Chowdhury ... For the Petitioner. Mr. Md. Adil Badr, Mr. Tirthankar Dhali ... For the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for a considerable period of time. Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and produces the case diary. It reflects that 639 grams of Yaba Tablet was recovered from the possession of the present petitioner. Having considered the quantum of seizure of contraband in the present case, I am of the view that provision of Section 37 of the NDPS Act is attracted. Taking into account the same and the present stage of the case, at this juncture, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. 2 The application for bail, being CRM (NDPS) 190 of 2026, is, thus, dismissed. All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities. (Tirthankar Ghosh, J.)
