By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks following reliefs: “(a) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus, certiorari or any other writ, order or direction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, directing Respondent No. 1 to take cognizance of and dispose of on Petitioner’s Complaint dated 24.02.2026, Reminder Email dated 05.03.2026 and Complaint dated 15.03.2026 in a time-bound manner on accordance with law...” 2. The petitioner, who is student of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), is aggrieved by alleged inaction of National Commission for Scheduled Castes i.e. respondent no. 1, on his complaints against respondent no. 2 i.e. Vice-Chancellor of JNU concerning certain remarks allegedly made against the Dalit community. 3. The petitioner states that his complaint dated 24.02.2026 and This is a digitally signed order. Therefore, considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case, it is directed that respondent no. 1/National Commission for Scheduled Castes shall consider the petitioner’s complaints dated 24.02.2026 and 15.03.2026, and endeavour to dispose of the same, preferably within a period of eight weeks from date, under intimation to the petitioner. 6. It is, however, clarified that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the allegations made by the petitioner or on the maintainability/merits of the complaints, which shall be considered by respondent No. 1 in accordance with law. 7. With the aforesaid direction, the petition, along with pending application(s), if any, stands disposed of. 8. The order be uploaded on the website forthwith. DR.
