resulted into registration of the abovesaid FIR. 4. Charge-sheet has already been filed albeit charges are yet not ascertained. 5. With the intervention of common friends and relatives, parties have entered into a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 03.06.2026 and have been able to resolve all their disputes and have decided to part ways, gracefully. 6. The couple was blessed with twins and as per the settlement, one such child would be with father (petitioner No.1) and the other would be with mother (respondent No.2). There is also complete assurance from both the parents that they would ensure that both their sons keep on meeting each other to ensure that there is a healthy relationship between them. 7. It is in the abovesaid backdrop that quashing is being sought. 8. Respondent no. 2 is present in person and she has been duly identified by her counsel as well as by Investigating Officer. 9. Petitioner nos. 1 and 2 have joined the proceedings through video-conferencing whereas Petitioner no. 3 is present in Court with counsel. 10.
When asked, respondent No. 2 reiterates the terms of abovesaid settlement. She also submits that there is already a divorce between them by way of mutual consent on 01.06.2024. She states that she has agreed to accept a total sum of Rs. 30,00,000/- as full and final settlement in lieu of istridhan, alimony, maintenance for self (past, present and future). She submits that she has already received Rs. 20,00,000/- and the balance amount of Rs. 10,00,000/- has been received today in the shape of Demand Draft drawn on State Bank of India. She submits that the abovesaid amount would be towards her maintenance as well as maintenance of one of her sons who is Signed By:SONIA THAPLIYAL Signing Date:14.08.2026 10:40:01 Signature Not Verified

under her care and custody. She states that she has entered into the abovesaid settlement out of her own free will, without any coercion and influence from any corner whatsoever and therefore, she would have ‘no objection’ if FIR in question is quashed. 11. In view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, continuing with criminal proceedings would serve no useful purpose, especially, when dispute does not involve any public interest and is, primarily, private in nature. In any case, even the complainant does not wish to press any charges against the petitioners. 12. Accordingly, exercising inherent powers vested in this Court under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, it is deemed appropriate to quash the instant FIR. 13. Consequently, to secure the ends of justice, FIR No. 184/2021 dated 30.12.2021, registered at Police Station Jaffarpur Kalan, for commission of offences under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC, along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, is, hereby, quashed, subject to petitioners depositing total cost of Rs. 25,000/- with Delhi High Court Legal Services Authority within four weeks from today.
Proof of deposit of cost alongwith original affidavits and MoU of the parties, copies of which have been placed on record in the present proceedings, shall be submitted before the learned Trial Court within further two weeks, so that these become part of Trial Court Record. 14. The petition stands disposed of in aforesaid terms. (MANOJ JAIN) JUDGE AUGUST 12, 2026/st/sk Signed By:SONIA THAPLIYAL Signing Date:14.08.2026 10:40:01
