Mishra, Advocate ---- 03/12.02.2026 Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned counsel appearing for the State. 2. The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Chaibasa Muffasil P.S. Case No.162 of 2022 for the alleged offences registered under Sections 420, 409 and 406 of Indian Penal Code pending in the Court of learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, West Singhbhum at Chaibasa. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case and the device was not working and the amount was not calculated. On this ground, he submits that the petitioner may kindly be granted anticipatory bail. 4. Learned counsel appearing for the State opposes the prayer and submits that the petitioner happened to be Branch Postmaster 2026:JHHC:3897 --2-- A.B.A. No. 7338 of 2025 at Bara Lagia Branch Post Office and he has embezzled Rs.4,85,780/- from different saving accounts of account holders. 5. Considering that the petitioner happened to be Branch Manager at Bara Lagia Branch Post Office and the allegations are there of embezzlement of Rs.4,85,780/- from different saving accounts of the account holders and the allegations are also there of embezzlement of Rs.8,08,131/- belonging to the postal department and total comes to Rs12,93,911/- and the witnesses in paragraph Nos.6, 7, 8, 9 and 21 of the case diary have supported the case of the prosecution, I am not inclined to grant privilege of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, hence, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is hereby rejected. 6. However, if the petitioner surrenders before the learned Court by way of filing proper petition the same will be decided in accordance with law without prejudice to this order.
