6. Learned APP for the State strongly opposes the present petition seeking quashing of the FIR and submits that the matter is listed before the learned Trial Court for final arguments. 7. Briefly stated, the petitioner and respondent No.2 are real brothers. On 12.06.2023, following a property dispute, the petitioner allegedly assaulted respondent No.2 with a pair of scissors. The injuries were opined to be simple in nature, resulting in the registration of FIR No.629/2023 at Police Station Sadar Bazar. Upon completion of the investigation, the charge-sheet was initially filed under Section 324 IPC. It is stated that Section 307 IPC was subsequently added and the matter was committed to the Court of Sessions. During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties amicably resolved their disputes vide Compromise Deed dated 27.07.2026. Respondent No.2 has no objection to the quashing of the FIR and the proceedings emanating therefrom. 8. On a query made by this Court, respondent no.
2 who has been duly identified by the IO, has categorically stated that he has entered into the concerned compromise deed dated 27.07.2026, out of his own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, he has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 9. In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment to the quashing of FIR in question.
