1. This is an o;ce reference.
2. This Court, vide order dated 04.07.2024 passed in MCRC No. 2608 of 2024, while allowing the bail of the applicants, namely, Savan Kumar Kewat @ Chhotu and Amit Kewat @ Betu had expressed its trust that the trial Court would make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certi?ed copy of the order, if there KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN
2 was no legal impediment.
3. Earlier on two occasions also, this Court had granted extension of time for compliance of the order dated 04.07.2024.
4. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Bilaspur District-Bilaspur (C.G.) vide her request letter dated 19.12.2025 has requested for grant of four months time for concluding the trial.
5. It transpires from perusal of the PUD that the presence of the accused persons in the present case is still pending. For securing the presence of the accused persons, arrest warrants have been issued through the Nodal O;cer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Headquarters, Bilaspur. Due to the continued absence of the accused persons, unnecessary delay is being caused in the proceedings of the case. Further, the witnesses do not appear on time. At present, a total of 291 NDPS cases are pending before the trial Court, out of which 52 cases are time-bound. Continuous eEorts are being made for their expeditious disposal. Therefore, it is respectfully submitted that a period of four (04) months is required for the ?nal disposal of the present case.
6. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is
directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of four months from today.
7. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed o7 with the aforesaid direction.
8. Registry is directed to send a certi?ed copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/- (Ramesh Sinha)
