JUSTICE V.SUJATHA Writ Petition No: 3670 OF 2026 O R D E R: This writ petition came to be filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief: “…to issue a Writ Order or Direction more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declare the action of the respondents in not considering the representation of the petitioner and rejecting the request for compassionate appointment to the family of Late Sri Gottapu Satyanarayana, without considering the petitioner’s case as the dependent daughter-in-law, as illegal, arbitrary, discriminatory and violative of Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for compassionate appointment in any suitable post commensurate with her qualification, in accordance with the existing rules, guidelines, and humanitarian policy and pass such other order or orders…” 2. Brief facts of the case are that the petitioner is the daughter in law of one Gottapu Satyanarayana who worked as an attender at the Veterinary dispensary, Mudunuru, under the Animal Husbandry department, Government of Andhra Pradesh. While in active service, the said Gottapu Satyanarayana died on 11.12.2023, subsequent to which, his son by name Gottapu Srinivasa Rao submitted an application seeking employment on compassionate grounds in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.687, GA (Ser.A) Department, dated 03.10.1977, amended by G.O.Ms.No.111, GA (Ser.A) Department, dated 27.04.1995. 3. The said application was rejected by the Director of Animal Husbandry vide Memo No.2550706/AH.II(2)/2024, dated 26.09.2024 on the ground that relaxation of age for compassionate appointment is not a matter of policy. Subsequently, the petitioner, being legally wedded wife of Gottapu Srinivasa 4 VS,J W.P.No.3670 of 2026 Rao submitted a representation on 20.09.2025 to the 2nd respondent with a request to consider her candidature for compassionate appointment due to the death of her father in law. As no orders were passed till date, pursuant to the said representation dated 20.09.2025, the present writ petition is filed. 4. Heard Ms. Yarkareddy Sushma, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Services – I, for Respondents. 5. As the relief sought in the present Writ Petition is only to the extent of declaring the action of the respondents in not considering the petitioner’s representation dated 20.09.2025 for her appointment on compassionate grounds. 6. Instead of going into the merits of the case, this Court is of the opinion to dispose of the Writ Petition, directing Respondent No. 2 to pass appropriate orders, on the representation made by the petitioner on 20.09.2025, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, in accordance with law. 7. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
