Issue a writ or order in the nature of Certiorari quashing the Rejection Order F.10 (3749695)/CJ/Legal/PHQ/2026/2300 dated 05.05.2026; b. Issue a writ or order in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondent to release the petitioner on furlough for a period of 02 weeks on him furnishing his Personal Bond only; Pass any other order or further orders, which this Hon'ble Court deems c. fit and proper in the interest of justice” 2. In pursuance of the order dated 05.08.2026, the following status report has been presented by the respondent-State: “1. That the present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking furlough for a period of two weeks on furnishing his personal bond only. 2. That, in order to verify the native/permanent address of the petitioner, HC Dinesh was deputed to Village Durgapur, District Nadia, West Bengal. She stated that she has been residing at the aforesaid address and that her husband has expired. She further stated that she has six sons and that the petitioner is her younger son. She also stated that the petitioner is presently lodged in Tihar Jail, Delhi. 3. That thereafter, the statement of Sh. Kalu Durlabh, S/o Late Sh. Ravi Durlabh, R/o Village Durgapur, District Nadia, West Bengal, brother of the petitioner, was recorded. He stated that he works as a farmer and that his father has expired. He further stated that the petitioner is his younger brother and is presently lodged in Tihar Jail, Delhi. 4. That during the course of verification, the statement of one neighbour, namely Smt. Chhabi Durlabh W/o Sh. Soku Mor Durlabh, R/o Village Durgapur, District Nadia, West Bengal, was also recorded. She corroborated the version given by the mother of the petitioner regarding the petitioner and his native address. 5. That on the basis of the aforesaid verification and the statements recorded during the inquiry, the native address of the petitioner has been verified and found to be genuine. However, any directions passed by the Hon'ble court shall be abided.” 3. The Court thus finds that the petitioner can be released on furlough for the same period as was directed by the Office of the Director General of Prisons, Prison Headquarters, Tihar, New Delhi on furnishing personal bond of Rs.10,000/-. 4.
