Sushil Kukreja, Judge (oral) Learned Additional Advocate General has placed on record copy of Office Order dated 03.07.2026, relevant portion whereof, reads as under:- “Keeping in view the facts/position, department is advised that the Department should not contest further at this stage. It should comply by offering appointment to the petitioner as Peon, strictly as a one-time case-specific compliance in COPC No. 88/2026, without treating it as precedent. Since the MTW policy is stated to be not existing as on today, and the recommendation relied upon before the Court was for Peon, the safest legally sustainable course is that the Department may offer 1 Whether reporters of Local Papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 2026:HHC:26688 appointment to the petitioner as Peon. This shall be done purely in compliance of the specific orders passed in the present contempt proceedings, without treating the same as a precedent for any other case, particularly as the matter arises out of its own peculiar facts.” 2. In view of aforesaid Office Order, no further orders are required to be passed in the present contempt petition and the matter is closed. 3. However, if the petitioner is still aggrieved, he is at liberty to avail appropriate remedy, as available to him under the law. 4. The petition is disposed of, so also pending application(s), if any.
