Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. 2. Petitioner has come up with the present writ petition seeking permission to organize Hanuman Jayanti by performing puja from 1st April, 2026 to 3rd April, 2026 on the road of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (for short ‘KMC’) just beside premises no. 112 Harisava Math under Ward No. 112 of KMC which comes under the jurisdiction of Bansdroni Police Station. 2 3. Learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that till date permission is not issued by the concerned police authority prompting him to approach this Court with the present writ petition. 4. Learned advocates representing the State respondents and KMC have jointly submitted that those authorities do not have specific objection, if Hanuman Jayanti is organized at the aforesaid locale from 1st April, 2026 to 3rd April, 2026 but that should not cause inconvenience to the people of the locality and vehicular movement may not be impacted. 5. Learned advocate representing the State respondents has submitted a communication dated 27th March, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Bansdorni Police Station and same is taken on record. Contents of such communication dated 27th March, 2026 also reflects the submission which has been made on behalf of the State respondents. 6. Having considered the respective submissions made on behalf of the parties concerned police authority and KMC are directed to permit the petitioner to organize Hanuman Jayanti from 1st April, 2026 to 3rd April, 2026 but the 3 organizer of Hanuman Jayanti shall adhere to the following conditions:- i. They would perform the puja and rituals on one side of the KMC road so that pedestrians can use the road and two wheelers can ply. ii. They will perform the puja and rituals without causing inconvenience to the people of the locality and they will follow the sound limits, if microphone is used. iii. Organizers of Hanuman Jayanti shall not use DJ music system. 7. Police authorities are also directed to maintain peace and tranquility at the locale and keep vigil during the period when puja will be performed. 8. It needs to be taken into consideration as it is submitted on behalf of respondents today that organizers of Hanuman Jayanti are required to obtain necessary permission from concerned authority of West Bengal Fire Service being respondent no. 7. 9. As it is submitted on behalf of State respondents as well as KMC that those authorities are not having objection if following norms Hanuman Jayanti is organized, 4 respondent no. 7 is directed to grant necessary permission on compliance of formalities to the petitioner, if application is made seeking permission. 10. With the aforesaid directions and restrictions writ petition stands disposed of. 11. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
