JUSTICE SANDEEP KUMAR ORAL ORDER 3 13-05-2026 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. for the State. 2. The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Jamui P.S. Case No. 549 of 2025 registered for the offence punishable under Sections 140(2), 61(2) and 3(5)of the B.N.S. 3. The petitioner and others are accused of kidnapping the victim and demanding Rs. 4 lakhs as ransom. 4. When the mother of the victim was coming with a ransom, the police arrested two co-accused, and thereafter, co- accused Pawan Kumar Yadav and Tannu Yadav freed the girl. The name of the petitioner has come in the self-inculpatory statement of the co-accused that he was also involved in the crime. 5. The petitioner has four criminal antecedents. Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.22829 of 2026(3) dt.13-05-2026 2/2 6. In the statement recorded under Section 183 B.N.S.S., the victim has named the accused petitioner. 7. Considering the gravity of the offence, criminal antecedent and the allegation levelled againt the petitioner, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 8. Accordingly, the regular bail application stands dismissed. 9. It is, however, clarified that the observations made herein are limited to the adjudication of the present bail application and shall not prejudice the case of the petitioner at any subsequent stage of the trial and this Court has not express any opinion on the merits of the case. sadique/- (Sandeep Kumar, J) U T
