JUSTICE SOUMITRA SAIKIA ORDER 09.09 .2026 Heard the learned counsel for the applicant. 2] This Interlocutory Application has been filed by the applicant for impleadment of opposite party No.7 Special Committee, represented by its Chairman/The Director, Welfare of Scheduled Caste and Backward Classes, Swahid Dilip Huzuri Path, Sarumatoria, Dispur, Guwahati-781006 as a party respondent in WP(C) No.1686/2026. By the said writ petition the petitioner is seeking for a direction to the respondent authority to appoint the petitioner in Page No.# 3/4 the Post of Graduate Teacher, Arts pursuant to the selection undertaken. The appointment of the petitioner has been kept in abeyance. 3] It is submitted that the reliefs claimed for cannot be granted by the Court in absence of the opposite party which is sought to be impleaded as a party respondent in the accompanying writ petition. 4] Mr. S.M.T. Chistie, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Secondary Education and Ms. S. Konwar, learned counsel appearing for the respondents Nos. 2 and 3 and Mr. H.P. Guwala, learned counsel appearing for the respondent No. 5 do not object to the prayer made. 5] Having heard the learned counsel for the parties and upon careful perusal of the pleadings available on the record, this Court is of the considered view that the prayer for impleadment of opposite party No.7 Special Committee, represented by its Chairman/The Director, Welfare of Scheduled Caste and Backward Classes, Swahid Dilip Huzuri Path, Sarumatoria, Dispur, Guwahati- 781006 can be allowed as said department is a necessary party in the said writ petition and their impleadment as party respondent is necessary in the event the Court seeks to issue any direction in the said writ petition. 6] Accordingly, this interlocutory application is allowed, the opposite party No.7 namely Special Committee, represented by its Chairman/The Director, Welfare of Scheduled Caste and Backward Classes, Swahid Dilip Huzuri Path, Sarumatoria, Dispur, Guwahati-781006 is arrayed as respondent No.7.
