2026:JHHC:8500 1 IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI W.P.(S) No. 4685 of 2025 ------ Rupesh Kumar, S/o Rabindra Kumar, R/o Village Nagain and PO- Deohara, PS-Goh, Dist-Aurangabad, Bihar- … … Petitioner(s) Versus 1. The State of Jharkhand through the Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy Department, PO & PS-Dhurwa, Dist-Ranchi. 2. Secretary, Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Mohall Kalinagar Chaibagan, PO & PS-Nakum, Dist-Ranchi. … … Respondent(s) ------ CORAM : SRI ANANDA SEN, J. ------ For the Petitioner(s) : Mr. Prabhash Ch. Sinha, Advocate For the Respondent(s) : Mr. Ashok Kr. Singh, AC to SC(L&C)-III Mr. Sanjoy Piprawall, Advocate Mr. Prince Kumar, Advocate Mr. Jay Prakash, Advocate Mr. Rakesh Ranjan, Advocate ------ 05/ 25th March, 2026 1. Heard the parties. 2. Admittedly, it is the case of the petitioner that on the date of document verification, the petitioner remained absent. The petitioner prays before this Court that one date may be given to him so that he can appear for the counselling. 3. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent- JSSC opposes the prayer and submits that this may not be a single case and there will be thousands like the petitioner and if one application is allowed, it will open a pandora’s box. He submits that further allowing this petitioner will amount to violation of Article 14 & 16. He further submits that the case of this petitioner is covered by WP(S) No.5930 of 2025 (Subhash Kumar Das Vs. The State of Jharkhand & Ors). 4. Considering the submission of the parties, I find that it is an admitted case that the petitioner has not appeared on the date of his document verification. Allowing the petitioner or giving some relaxation, will mean that the petitioner will get some special preferences, leaving out the other similarly situated persons, who also could not appear on the date of document verification / 2026:JHHC:8500 2 counselling. Thus, no special benefit can be given to the petitioner. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. (ANANDA SEN, J.) 25.03.2026 S.K.D/CP-2 Uploaded on 28.03.2026
