The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the refusal of the respondent CESC Limited in providing a new electricity connection at the premises. On behalf of CESC Limited, it is submitted that there has been no compliance by the petitioner in making the prescribed statutory payment. The petitioners submit that they are only entitled to pay a sum of approximately Rs.1,00,000/- for a fresh electricity connection. In view of the submissions made on behalf of both the parties, WPA 15784 of 2025 stands disposed of by directing the petitioner to approach the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) under the Electricity Act, 2003. It is made clear that there has been no adjudication on the merits of the case and all
2 questions are left open for GRO to decide in accordance with law. The concerned GRO is also directed to complete the entire exercise within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the representation by the petitioner.
