This is a second round of litigation between the parties. By an order dated 7th October, 2024, a Coordinate Bench of this Court had directed the representation of the petitioner to be considered by the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO). By a communication dated 8th March, 2024, GRO has rejected the prayer of the petitioner on the ground that there was no necessity of shifting the meter of the private respondent. The impugned communication also records that the supply can be disconnected if the registered consumer opts for voluntary disconnection or the consumer violates Court of Law. 2 On behalf of the private respondent, it is submitted that an identical writ petition was filed being WPA 17173 of 2025 (Sri Samir Haldar & Ors. Vs. Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Limited (CESC) & Ors.). By an order dated 25th August, 2025, the said writ petition stood dismissed. In view of the above facts and circumstances, the direction which the petitioner seeks, is misconceived. There are no grounds to interfere with the communication dated 8th March, 2024. The GRO has arrived at a finding that there was no necessity to provide an electricity connection to the respondent and there is no infirmity in the said communication nor is there any other ground to interfere with the same. In view of the above, WPA 25248 of 2025 stands dismissed. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
